I did a dyeing workshop once, and one of the things we did was to have various colours on the fabric, then put ice cubes all over while the dye was wet, and let them melt...and the colours fused into each other. The only thing I would change was to not use the same size ice cubes but use broken up ones, so that the melting ice ran at a different rate.
