Fans DYB - Gerry K.'s Block

Here is Gerry K.'s block from the Fans DYB in CQI. She made the block and I got to embellish it. Lisa B. had previously stitched a block magnificently and I was under a considerable amount of pressure to keep up! I'm not sure I made it to Lisa's skills, but I did my best! I tried several new to me seam treatments that I will definitely be using again.

Victorian Women Round Robin

Here are the blocks I pieced for the Victorian Women Round Robin at CQI. These are all women from my family tree and were all born and grew up in the Victorian era. Soon they will be mailed off to my stitching partners for their embellishment.

This is my work on Alice's block. It was a lot of fun working on this block. (-;

Gerry K.'s "For the Birds"

At the CQI retreat this year, Gerry offered to do one of my "For the Birds" blocks while she was at the retreat. I had asked her to be in the round robin, but she was too busy at the time, so of course I said "Yes!". Here is a picture of the block. She asked me for the picture so she could tell you all a little about it, so you will see it on her blog as well. (-;

Laurie's English Garden II block

This is the stitching I did on Laurie N.'s English Garden blocks.

Janet's "For the Birds" Group Block

This is the block that Lisa would have worked on if she hadn't had to drop out of the round robin. The rest of us, myself, Cathy K., Cathy L., and Nicki Lee worked together on this block.

Cathy K.'s stitching for me!

This is one of my "For the Birds" DYB blocks. Cathy K. did all the stitching and I made the block. I just love what she did for me. (-;

For the Birds - Cathy K.'s block

This is my work done on Cathy K.'s block. Some seam treatments, an embroidered bird, some trims, lace and crochet, a Brazilian embroidered flower, some silk ribbon daisies with french knot centers, beads, buttons, and a charm. (-;

For the Birds - Cathy K.'s block

This is the "group stitch" block for Cathy K. You can hardly tell what I did on her block, but I did stitch on it - honestly! I backstitched around the leaves with a delicate gold thread and couched down another metallic thread for the stems. It definitely looks better in person - very textured.

English Garden Round Robin Blocks

These are my blocks for the CQI English Garden Round Robin. We are still waiting for one more person to sign up, but I am a little paranoid about all the commitments I've made for this year already and am not letting any grass grow under my feet!

Summer Flower Garden Round Robin

This is one of the first round robins I ever participated in at CQ for Newbies. I never blogged about it although the center has always been the header for my blog. I've had the hardest time getting a good picture of it that shows its true colors for some reason, but this one isn't so bad. This went all the way to Australia and into every corner of the US. My fellow stitchers were Lindy W., Jydy H., Lynn O., Lori K., Sharon G., Velina B., and Susan B. I really like how it turned out.

Sumptuous Starts Round Robin - finished project

Here is the book cover I created with my block made from the Sumptuous Starts Round Robin. I just love how it turned out. There were four lovely ladies, Arlene, Ann, Skye, and Kathy, who all added stitching. It is even prettier in person.

Skye's Sumptuous Start RR block

This is Skye's block from the Sumptuous Starts
Round Robin on CQI Novice Yahoo Group. Isn't
it pretty? I added the butterfly and embellished
a couple of purple flowers on the printed fabric with organza ribbon and beading. I also added the seam treatment on the lower left-hand corner, a butterfly charm, and a sequined motif (below the S). The other ladies were pretty busy on this block because they only left me one seam! Hope you love it Skye!

Kathy's Block for Sumptuous Starts Round Robin

I am the second to last person to work on Kathy's lovely block. Here are the parts I added. I can't think of anything else to say about it. It is 3:53 am and I really need to get back to bed! Woke up earlier and couldn't get back to sleep so decided to catch up on some computer play!

Arlene's Block for Sumptuous Starts Round Robin

This is Arlene's block with my work and Ann F.'s work. She did the seam treatment and embellishments on top of the fan, and I did all the seam treatments and embellishements that currently exist on the fan blades themselves.

Sumptuous Starts - Skye's work on my block!

This is the work done on my block by Skye in the Sumptuous Start Round Robin for CQI Novice group! She has really done a great job keeping to my Rocky Mountain theme and I really appreciate that. Look at the blackeyed susans, pine cones, and lupines! She has also added a little trout and and elk button! I'm thrilled with her work!

Ann's Block - Sumptuous Starts

I've joined a round robin on the novice group of Crazy Quilting International. Ann' block is the first block I've had a chance to work on and I may have gone overboard a little bit. There is the flower, web and a bead paisley and then a picture of the overall block (which looks a bit green - it's not really!). Hope I didn't hog the block too much.
