Is Christmas really over?

A friend and I have been chatting on Facebook about how we really don't want to take down our trees. I have a 12 foot tree and I just love turning it on early in the morning when it's still dark or in the evening, getting myself a cup of mint chocoate coffee, and stitching on the couch or talking with my daughter while she has hot chocolate. My friend is thinking about hanging lights in the off-season and I'm thinking that might be a fun idea!

you could leave tree up and do monthly decorations depending on the holiday.. around here Mardi Gras trees are popular. I left a mini tree out to decorate that way.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who doesn't want to turn loose of the Christmas time/ decor. I know it will go before too much longer but so many have it down the 26th! Not for me. :)

We don't let go of Christmas easily. We have some lights and bunting in the family room that usually don't come down until Easter. They just make us feel good.

Beautiful tree, Connie, I can see why you'd like to leave it up. We had a real tree, and we put it where the dog's bed usually goes. He was anxious to have his spot back, so I had to take it down, but I could have left it up for a month. My MIL used to put hers up on Christmas eve and leave it up till at least early February. Sometimes longer, if she wasn't up to taking it down.
